if you are interested in becoming part of one or more of these committees please send an email to ll99executive@iamaw99.ca

Human Rights Committee – The purpose of the Human Rights Committee is to educate, equip, and empower IAM activists with the tools needed to promote fairness, equality, and inclusion across our union and workplaces. The goals of this committee include: Strengthening local and district-level engagement in advancing human rights, defending and improving worker rights through the legislative process, supporting organizing efforts that prioritize traditionally underrepresented workers, developing strategies to address and intervene in workplace harassment, and continued education about IAM resources available to support Human Rights Committee work. Human Rights Committees play a vital role in building inclusive participation in union leadership and promoting diversity, mutual respect, and equality throughout the IAM.

Women’s Committee – A Women’s Committee consisting of three 3 or more members will be established to promote more active involvement by women in the union and to make recommendations on appropriate educational programs. The primary goals of the Women’s Committee include: Achieving equality, economic security and power sharing in the workplace, educating our Sisters to affect change to the challenges women face in the workplace, enhancing the organizing efforts of the IAMAW, involving our Sisters in politics and the legislative arena, and networking and collaborating with like-minded groups.

Young Workers Committee – Our role is to support, educate and guide young workers that are new to union or not engage in the union. We want to create a pathway to leadership, or pathway to lead other committees.
